Korça is 'invaded' by tourists for Easter - There is no empty space left, the city is 'exploding' with festivities and commercialism!

Korça has become this weekend a real magnet for thousands of visitors who are looking for not just a vacation, but a festive experience with rhythm, noise and... a lot of money! Easter

The Orthodox have transformed the beautiful southeastern city into a bubble overflowing with tourists, where hotels, guesthouses, and every available bed have been occupied for days.

Capacity has been exceeded, reservations have been made since early April, and now the city has become practically inaccessible to any latecomers. Prices? Unbridled! Accommodation and food have reached high figures, taking advantage of the large influx of believers and tourists.

Korça Cathedral is expected to be the epicenter of the celebrations with thousands of people gathering for the mass of Christ's resurrection, while the city, like every year, sells more than it celebrates: candles, souvenirs, lamb, decorations and 'paxh' from all sides.

But while Korça sparkles with lights and Easter bread, one question lingers: Is this a spiritual celebration or a massive marketing show to line the pockets of tourists?
